Our mechanics start each day by 5:30 a.m, dealing with both tempermental buses and drivers. Anything that can leak, break or not work, will leak, break or not work.
They come to the rescue when a bus breaks down during a run; plow the bus yards; remove snow from the roofs of nearly one hundred vehicles, all the while pulling vehicles for mainteneance and state inspections.
Mark Solt was in the the first auto shop class ever to attend the Bethlehem Vocational Technical School and went on to be an auto shop instructor for thirty years.
Our mechanic foreman, who unfortunely cannot be a union member, brings from his Air Force background a “Can Do!” attitude, organizational skills and a team spirit.
Despite budgets and our companys’ challenges, these men are usually patient and good humored. They do the impossible under impossible conditions.
